This morning we were made aware that our ‘Match Day Experience’ videos were a breach of the EFL rules.

With this, our most recent video from the victory away at Wigan has been removed from our YouTube channel.
.
We’re disappointed to say that there will be no more ‘Match Day Experience’ videos on our channel.
.
I must say that making Match Day Experience (MDE) videos was never my original intention. It wasn’t something that I wanted to make but after being asked to try it out, they were very well received. Both myself and Jacob Furnell have thoroughly enjoyed the filming and editing process on these videos, despite my original scepticism.
.
I understand this decision will come as a disappointment to a lot of our subscribers, particularly those based outside of the UK, or those unable to attend Villa matches for whatever reason. We’ve received many comments about the quality of the MDEs and how it can share the atmosphere from a match.
.

A comment from one of our Match Day Experience videos earlier this season.

.

I must stress this is an issue the with EFL ruling and not an issue with Aston Villa Football Club.
.
We’d love to continue to try and find a way to make this work but now we know the MDEs are breaking league rules, we’ve no choice but to stop producing them.
.
.
We hope you’ll continue to support the other videos on our channel, which we put a lot of hard work into, and maybe one day the EFL will change their rules to benefit people like us producing free content, rather than trying to put a stop to it.
